Dear Colorado Wine Club Member,
The Colorado Mountain Wine Festival is approaching! The festival takes place at Riverbend Park on Saturday, September 16th. Winemaker Glenn Foster will be speaking at one of the associated Winemaker Dinners at DMT Worldwide Culinary Adventures on 1st and Orchard. This special, eight course meal prepared by DMT’s expert staff will take place on Thursday, September 14th. There are a few seats left, so if you’d like to attend, please call DMT Catering at 241-1865.
Enclosed are your Wine Club bottles. This month’s wines for the Dry Colorado Wine Club are:
Sutcliffe Vineyards 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon John and Ben have pulled out the stops on this one. It’s focused, intense, and has great balance. It starts with a beautiful nose with a hint of Red Delicious apples, along with aromas of plums and cassis. In the mouth it follows through with a well-balanced tannic structure, finishing strong with toasty oak.
Holy Cross Abbey Sauvignon Blanc Sauvignon Blancs come in a wide variety of styles, from very grassy to very fruity. This one is the very fruity sort, with major amounts of sweet melon character. On entering the mouth, there is a pleasant tangy lemon sensation which fades to round, soft flavors, finishing clean and light. Try it with Chicken Piccatta, broccoli, fresh vegetables and baguette with an artichoke cream cheese dip – delicious!
As always, enjoy the wines in good health!
Sincerely,
Glenn & Natalie Foster |
