Dear Colorado Wine Club Member,
The Holidays are upon us, and it’s a great time of year for getting together with family and friends. Whether you’re traveling out of town or hosting a gathering of your own, it’s a great time to stock up on Colorado wines and do some shopping for the cork-heads in your life. Don’t forget that as a Wine Club member you have a full time, 10% discount working for you.
Enclosed are your Wine Club bottles. This month’s wines for the Dry Colorado Wine Club are: Garfield Estates 2006 Fume Blanc This wine is light-bodied, crisp and dry but rounded with honeydew and nectarine flavors. It’s a great aperitif. It is one of the really good wines to serve with the Thanksgiving meal with all its various flavors and textures. The light, slightly tart acid balance lends itself to pairing with a variety of foods. The rounded, melon and fruit flavors without sugar make the wine appealing either by balancing out the sweeter dishes or complementing the non-sweet foods.
2005 JA Balistreri Vineyards Syrah, Horse Mountain Vineyard The ’05 Syrah from Balistreri Vineyards is deep in color and flavor. There’s a richness and depth that will appeal to your senses. There’s also a measure of oak and smoke from the American wood in which it resided. Balistreri makes all their wines without added sulfites, so for those who are extremely sensitive to this ubiquitous wine making ingredient, it’s a good choice. The wine is also made without filtering to preserve its integrity and true expression of the grapes used to make it.
As always, enjoy the wines in good health!
Sincerely,
Glenn & Natalie Foster |
