2-24-06 Dear Colorado Wine Club Member, This month’s E-News included a plug for booking special events at the shop. Now we’d like to invite our Wine Club members to an event we’ve booked especially for you. We’re calling it the Colorado Wine Club Spring Reception. This event is at no cost to you – it’s our way of saying thanks for all your support. Also, at that time we’ll unveil our first wine ever made under our own label. As you may know, we’re licensed as Talon Winery and our roughly 50 cases worth of wine is made from Viognier grapes. Consequently, subject to approval of the Federal government, we’ll call it Talon Viognier. The reception is on Saturday, March 11th from 5:30 to whenever. We’ll have some nice delectables to eat, along with your usual complimentary wine tasting. Please RSVP with a yea or a nay so we know how many are coming, and do feel free to bring a couple of friends if you’d like. Enclosed are your February Wine Club bottles. This month’s wines for the Sweet Colorado Wine Club are: Carlson Vineyards Prairie Dog Blush Talk about irreverent! Mary and Parker Carlson always seem to come up with fun names for wine, and this is one of the originals. It’s a very nice, medium bodied, medium sweet wine with deep apricot color and a smooth, long finish. We tasted it in the last blind panelist tasting, and it did just fine, and considering the price, it’s quite the bargain. PDB is priced at only $8.75, less your 10% member discount. Holy Cross Abbey Vineyard Sunset Here is another wine that’s not available to taste. We picked up a case while on a family vacation knowing that our sweet wine club members would appreciate it. It’s simply wonderful. Also medium sweet, but with more youth and spunk than many of the blushes around Colorado. You may purchase more of this wine at $13.50 less the Wine Club member discount. As always, enjoy the wines in good health! Sincerely,
Glenn & Natalie Foster |
