Dear Colorado Wine Club Member,

By the time you get this, we may be either full or too late to get you into the Strolling Tapas event on Friday, August 24th, but there’s hope!  We’re doing it again on Thursday, September 13th for Wine Fest.  Unfortunately, we can’t offer the Wine Club discount price this time, as ticketing is through DMT Catering.  This will be another fabulous display of Spanish appetizers expertly paired with delicious Colorado wines, presented in quantities fit for a full meal.  Sign up and come hungry!  For August 24th reservations, call 858-6330.  For September 13th reservations, call 241-1865.

Enclosed are your Wine Club bottles.  This month’s wines for the Sweet Colorado Wine Club are:

2005 Allegretto, Bookcliff Vineyards

Allegretto is a delight to the senses.  It’s warm, sunny aroma will arouse your interest.  It’s bright, zesty flavor will tickle your palate in a way that will make you smile.  It’s made of Orange Muscat grapes estate grown right here in the Grand Valley.  Orange Muscat is not related to the more historically significant Muscat Blanc A Petits Grains, or Moscato di Canelli in Italy.  But the flavor . . . oh the flavor!  You’ll probably like this wine a lot if you like dessert wines.  It’s very interesting.

2006 Adagio, Bookcliff Vineyards

The Adagio is a fortified dessert wine made of Black Muscat grapes.  You must be wondering, how many colors of Muscat are there anyway?  Well we haven’t counted them recently, but John Garlich, owner and winemaker of Bookcliff Vineyards, clearly has a proclivity for planting them.  This particular wine is tasty and unusual.  It won a Silver Medal at the San Francisco International Wine Competition in 2005.

As always, enjoy the wines in good health!

Sincerely,

Glenn & Natalie Foster
