Dear Colorado Wine Club Member, Come and celebrate another harvest in Colorado Wine Country! We invite you to join us Saturday, November 4th for an evening of wine and appetizers. Rainer Thoma, winemaker for Garfield Estates Winery, and Jenne Baldwin of Plum Creek Cellars will pour three of their wines for your enjoyment. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet two of Colorado’s top winemakers, ask questions, and enjoy a relaxing, flavor filled evening. It’s also our way of saying thanks for your continued support. Please RSVP by Wednesday, Nov. 1st. Enclosed are your Wine Club bottles. This month’s wines for the Sweet Colorado Wine Club are: Mountain Spirit Winery Apple Ice Wine Here is a delicious, apple frosted dessert wine that is sure to raise eyebrows. It’s quite sweet, with a high pitched, balancing tartness. This wine is unlike any wine we’ve tasted, and truly delightful. It would be delicious with an apple cake, spice cake, apple pie, or peppermint hard candy. Also consider having it with raspberry sherbet or a lime sorbet. Meadery of the Rockies Cranberry Kiss A perfect Thanksgiving wine, the Cranberry Kiss is a blended fruit wine that has wonderful flavor and balance. You can taste the cranberries! Vivid red color, crisp acidity and medium sweet, with a truly cranberry pucker in the finish. It’s very nice by itself or with a wide variety of foods. Turkey stuffing with walnuts and celery comes to mind. Butter glazed yams would also be a good fit. As always, enjoy the wines in good health! Sincerely,
Glenn & Natalie Foster |
