Dear Colorado Wine Club Member,

It’s been a wild and wooly holiday season for us, and we hope it’s been filled with laughter and memorable moments with family and friends.  With the new year approaching, it’s time to reflect on the past, make plans for the future, and have some fun in between, whatever that might mean to you.  Thank you again for your continued Wine Club membership.

Enclosed are your Wine Club bottles.  This month’s wines for the Sweet Colorado Wine Club are:

Meadery of the Rockies Guinevere Mead

This honey wine has received top honors at one of the largest wine tasting events in America.  The Indy International Wine Competition has over 3000 wines entered, and it takes 84 judges to taste the wines.  The Guinevere received the “Best Mead in America” award from this competition.  It’s quite sweet, with delicious balance and poise.

Plum Creek Cellars 2005 Riesling

This Riesling shows a beautiful light gold color and wonderful scents of peach, apple and citrus.  It is lightly sweet in the mouth, showing apples, pears and citrus, with a long, clean finish.  This wine is really very nice as an aperitif or for pairing with milder foods such as fresh vegetable trays with a creamy dip, cheese and crackers, or flatbread with an artichoke cream cheese spinach dip.  It would also be very nice after dinner with a light fruit tart dessert, but nothing too sweet or rich.

As always, enjoy the wines in good health!

Sincerely,

Glenn & Natalie Foster
