Dear Colorado Wine Club Member, If you hadn’t seen it in the recent E-News, we’re having another of our Wine Tasting 101 classes this Saturday! Here’s the info, we still have space. Join us as we sip and swirl our way to a better understanding of wine and its complexities. We will discuss such wine concepts as dryness, fruitiness, tannins, acidity, and any other topics you’d like to discuss. We’ll spend an evening sampling a variety of fine Colorado wines followed by light hors d'oeuvres. Pre-registration with payment is required. Call 858-6330 to register. This class takes place here at the Colorado Wine Room on Saturday, July 21 from 7 to 9 pm. Cost is $30 for Wine Club members, $35 for all others. Go ahead and eat a decent meal beforehand, but we'll have crackers & tapenades available afterwards. Enclosed are your Wine Club bottles. This month’s wines for the Vintner’s Choice Colorado Wine Club are: 2006 Vin Rosé, Garfield Estates Vineyard It’s been pretty hot recently, and here is a reprieve. This wine is delicately balanced, light and fruity, but dry. This is a European style rosé. Most Americans like a sweet rosé, not knowing how pleasant a dry, pink wine can be on a hot summer day. We get strawberries, pie cherries, and light grapey qualities in this wine. It’s wonderfully refreshing. Sangre del Sol, Red Table Wine, Alfred Eames Cellars This wine by Eames Peterson is a great blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. It is dark in color, rich and velvety with subtle vanilla in the nose. In the mouth it is fruit driven with an earthy tone. It has a long, clean finish that begs you to take another taste. Delightful wine from this long-time producer. As always, enjoy the wines in good health! Sincerely,
Glenn & Natalie Foster |
