Happy holidays and a joyful, rewarding New Year is what we wish for you at this special time of year.  This is your last Colorado Wine Club package for 2007.  We truly hope that you’ve enjoyed the wines, the letters, the complimentary tastings, and the special pricing that your club membership offers.  We’re very pleased to have you with us, and tender our sincerest thanks for your continued support.  Colorado wines have come a long way in the last 15 years, and we hope you’ll continue to join us as we explore the wide variety of wines we have here in Colorado.

Enclosed are your Wine Club bottles.  This month’s wines for the Vintner’s Choice Colorado Wine Club are:

2007 Talon Rosato

Our most recent bottling represents Talon Winery’s first foray into the realm of pink & sweet.  “Rosato” means pink in Italian.  A Rosato is typically light in weight, color and residual sugar.  It’s received rave reviews from all sorts of customers, even “dry wine only” people.  Sales have been brisk since bottling on December 2nd.  This was the smallest bottling ever accomplished in our 15 years in the business:  we put up 30 cases of the Rosato.  The remaining 200 cases will be bottled early next year.  You may notice a slight sediment or haze in your bottle.  Not to worry . . . this is totally harmless and normal.  If it offends your visual senses, by all means decant the wine to your heart’s content after you let it stand upright for a week or two.

2005 47-Ten, Canyon Wind Cellars

The 47-Ten table wine is a nicely priced selection from the Canyon Wind fold.  It’s a good wine, and named for the elevation at the Canyon Wind vineyards in Palisade.  Look for aromas of plum, berry, powdered chocolate and earth; joined by vanilla and spice on the finish.  It will pair well with a variety of heavier, more flavorful food.  Gumbo, chili, root vegetable stews come to mind.  It’s good eatin’ weather!
