Our Story

Glenn Foster was born and raised in California wine country. Growing up in that environment, Glenn cultivated his own passion for winemaking and, after attending college in Colorado, was invited to join the production staff at Ravenswood winery in Sonoma, founded by his father in 1976. Glenn spent two years learning the business literally from the ground up as a “cellar rat.” His final project at Ravenswood was to write a production manual for training purposes.

In the mid 1990s, Glenn and his wife Natalie discovered a new passion for Colorado wines. For 10 years Glenn worked at three prominent western Colorado wineries. At each winery, Glenn distinguished himself and was primarily responsible for producing approximately 480,000 bottles of wine. Many of these wines received national and international awards.

In 2004, knowing that some of the best wine grapes in the country went unrecognized in our rural locales, Glenn and Natalie decided to open the Colorado Wine Room. In May 2005 the facility opened in Fruita, Colorado, to local acclaim. Glenn and Natalie today continue to spread the news about how easy it is to enjoy many of Colorado’s world class wines.
