Exploring the Finest Wines of Wheat Ridge, Colorado

If you're looking for a unique and exciting wine experience, Wolf+ Wildflower is the place to be. Located in the heart of Wheat Ridge, this establishment offers a wide selection of wines from the Windhorse vineyard, a 300-foot tall vineyard planted on ancient volcanic mudflows in rugged canyon lands. As part of their commitment to coexist with nature, Windhorse Vineyard has 34 acres of grapes on 160 acres of wild land, including oak and pine forests and native pastures and wildflowers. The low relative humidity of summer, high altitude, and refreshing winds of the mountains at dusk provide cool nights that preserve the freshness and acidity of the fruit, essential for fine wines.

The Columbia Gorge AVA is renowned for its great variation in climate and altitude. This xeric pattern of wet winter and dry summer mimics the pattern in areas such as the Transcaucasian region between the Black and Caspian Seas and the Western Mediterranean region, where wild Vitis vinifera (to which all modern wine grape varieties belong) is known to have originated. This is perfect for wine grapes, as winter rain and snow fill the soil profile with water, so that the vines are fully supplied with water when they break their dormancy in April and grow their lush crowns and bear fruit in May and June. At Wolf+ Wildflower, you can find bottles of red, white, orange and bubble wine, as well as draft wine in collaboration with Carboy Winery.

The selections are all seasonal or limited edition wines crafted by Steve and his wife Nikki, who have immersed themselves in vineyard farms and explored wineries across the region. With their passion for winemaking in the Pacific Northwest, they have created delicious wines that are sure to please. So if you're looking for a unique wine experience in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, be sure to check out Wolf+ Wildflower. With their selection of seasonal or limited edition wines crafted by passionate winemakers, you're sure to find something that will tantalize your taste buds.
